Ford Focus 1.5 EcoBlue "ZTDA" Engine Replacement Engine

The Ford 1.5 EcoBlue ZTDA is a modern turbocharged diesel engine engineered with efficiency, low emissions and performance in mind. It belongs to Ford’s EcoBlue diesel engine family and is used primarily in the Ford Focus Mk4 from 2018 onwards.

This 1.5-litre inline four-cylinder unit (I4) has a displacement of 1498 cm³ and relies on a high-pressure common-rail direct injection system with piezoelectric injectors. The ZTDA variant is built around a lightweight cast-iron block paired with an aluminium cylinder head, reducing weight and improving thermal management.

To keep emissions in check, the engine is equipped with a diesel particulate filter (DPF), an SCR system (AdBlue injection) and exhaust gas recirculation (EGR). Together, these systems help it meet strict Euro 6 emissions standards.

Power output is 88-92 kW (120-125 hp), with torque of up to 300 Nm. It is compatible with both manual and automatic transmissions, and features an advanced engine management system for optimal performance and consumption.
