Verified gearbox codes
The codes below are taken from the manufacturer’s own parts catalogue, model by model. The same gearbox was built under several codes and the right one depends on the car’s VIN, so we always list them together with the car and the model year.
- Audi A4 (8K/B8), MY2010: KSN · KSR · KSS · KST · KSU · LAM · LAN · LAQ · LAS · LAT · LAU · LKR · LKS · LKT · LKU · LKV · LKW · LKX · LKY · LLA · LTZ · LXS · MMR · MMU · MMV · MMW · MQZ · MVB · MVC
- Audi A4 (8K/B8), MY2013: NDS · NDT · NDU · NDV · NDW · NDY · NRJ · NYM · PCG · PLP · PVM

The Multitronic needs its own specific fluid; the wrong grade destroys the chain quickly, so always check the service history before buying.
Typical failures
These are the reasons this gearbox usually gets replaced — check your own symptoms before ordering:
- wear on the variator chain/belt and pulleys
- valve body wear — soft or delayed shifts
- skipped oil services — the fluid needs changing about every 60,000 km
Matching engines from our stock
This gearbox is used with the following engine codes, which we also supply:

Where to find your gearbox code
The gearbox code is the decisive detail: the same gearbox model was built under several codes, and they differ in ratios and software. There are three places to find it: the type plate on the gearbox casing, the equipment sticker on the first pages of the service book, or ask us — we check it against the VIN. Send the code or the VIN with your enquiry and we will supply the right unit.
